Sparkleberry Swamp Sweep

Location:
Pack's Landing, Rimini, Sumter County, South Carolina, USA
Date/Time:
Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 9:00:00 AM - Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 5:00:00 PM
Description:
According to a leading authority, there is enough garbage in every log jam from the 601 Bridge to the train track trestle that crosses the Santee River near Pack's Landing to keep enough watershed citizens busy for a year removing marine debris from the swamp. Let's get the word out about the event, have some fun, tell polluters that we will not stand to allow pollution in the Santee River Watershed.
Pack's Landing, in a partnership with the Santee Riverkeeper Alliance, is hosting the Sparkleberry Swamp Sweep. Stevie Pack and Mark Bruce have agreed that February 25th, 2012 is a great day for friends and family to get out on the water. After the sweep, food will be served and there will be a meeting for the public to express what they believe to be some good ideas for improving water quality.
If you or your organization would like to sponsor this event, let us know.
Sweep starts around 9:00am.
Lunch starts around 11:00am.
Meeting starts around 12:00pm.
